How to Use This CSV to Excel Mapper

  1. Upload Your Excel Template: Drag and drop your master Excel template file (.xlsx) into the designated "Upload Excel Template" area, or click "Choose File" to browse and select it. The tool will validate the file.
  2. Upload Your CSV Data File: After a valid Excel template is loaded, the "Upload CSV File" area will become active. Upload your CSV data file (.csv) here. Remember to indicate if your CSV file contains a header row using the checkbox.
  3. Define Header Mappings: Once both files are successfully uploaded, the mapping interface will appear. For each header (or column) from your CSV file, you'll need to:
    • Specify the target Excel Cell Address (e.g., B2, F10) where the data should be placed.
    • Select the appropriate Target Sheet within your Excel template from the dropdown list.
    • You can switch between a horizontal grid view (Grid View icon) and a stacked list view (List View icon) for mapping, using the toggle icon.
  4. (Optional) Save or Load Mapping Templates: For recurring tasks, you can save your current mapping configuration using the Save Mapping icon icon. Load previously saved templates with the Load Mapping icon icon.
  5. Configure File Naming: Click the "Next: File Naming" button (this becomes active once files are loaded and mappings are initiated). On the next screen, define a naming pattern for your output Excel files (e.g., "Report_{index}", "Certificate_{index}"). The {index} placeholder will be replaced with a sequential number. You can also set the starting index number.
  6. Generate Your Excel Files: Click "Generate Excel Files". The tool will process each row of your CSV data, populate a new copy of your Excel template with that row's information according to your mappings, and then bundle all the generated Excel files into a single .zip archive for easy download.
